Keep your morals in mind. Be sure to will be comfortable with the decisions you make. If a decision is going to upset you or stress you out, consider not choosing that direction. Some people might have different morals from yours, but you must follow your own conscience.

Don't shift the blame for mistakes to others. Subordinates, outside contractors, and plenty of other people within the organization can cause a business transaction to go wrong. If you try to shift the blame, you will lose the confidence of your customers and they won't patronize your business any longer.

Being ethical is crucial to being a good leader. Instill a strong code of ethics in your employees and follow that code yourself. When people know that you're working with their interests in mind, they will start to view your company in a more positive light. By having a code of ethics within your company, your business will be successful.

Make things easy for people to understand. If you can take difficult topics and talk about them in a way that everyone can understand, that will be a benefit to you as a leader. People need someone who can explain things, and if you can do that in a way that doesn't make them feel inferior, they will love you.

Keep your cool even in the craziest of situations. If your employees see you panicking, they'll think it's time to panic. If they see you exuding strength, then they'll feel confident in your ability to make the right decisions for both the company and them. Remember, perception is everything. Even if you feel the opposite, show strength and confidence.

Take some time at the end of the day to analyze how the team is working together. Reflect on this yourself, or ask a few team members for input. Be open to suggestions, changes and making new friends.
