Approach To Milk Tank And Silo

By Tammie Caldwell

A container is equipment used to store contents for a short period of time, so for farmers with large herd of cattle they need to invest in these container fitted with cooling system to prevent their content from going bad. These containers exist in many type, there is single, triple and double walled containers, there is jacketed and lastly the insulated containers fitted with outdoor and indoor installation necessary to cool, store and heat liquids. To have your dairy products properly stored use milk tank and silo.

Most of the storage tanks are made of stainless steel and they are used every day to keep and store fresh lacteal secretion on their firms in best conditions possible. The storage facilities should be thoroughly cleaned immediately after each and every milk collection. These lacteal secretion tanks can be acquired through purchasing from suppliers and for farmers who are short of capital can enjoy the benefits of these massive storage facilities through renting them from nearby dairy plants.

The process of how lacteal secretion gets from the cow to the store starts from a farmer rearing dairy cattle, harvesting dairy product from cows should be done twice or thrice in a day, the process of milking has been mechanized today reducing the time taken for milking.

Types of tanks are only two, it is either closed container which is very big and takes considerably a lot of milk, and the other type is open container. There is another storage equipment known as the silos, they are so big they can take up to eleven thousand liters of milk, because of their size they are constructed outside but close enough to dairy.

After collection, storage containers or silos and pipes used for inlet and outlet are washed. Products from farm are collected after twenty four to forty eight hours, during collection milk is stored in tankers made of stainless steel and insulated so as to keep the content inside cold.

To facilitate and accelerate rapid and adequate cooling of all the content inside a storage facility, the container is fitted with one or two agitator. To make sure that entire content in the container is of uniform temperature and homogeneous, it is recommended to stir the content regularly.

Cooling containers for dairy products come into two different types, you can have open tanks convenient for liters below three hundred, or one can have closed containers which has the capacity to hold large liters of about ten thousand.

One inlet is supposed to be covered using air vent while other inlets pump content into the container. Another thing to remember is to fit the container with four or six legs that are easily adjustable. To ensure all the content flow into to the container tilt are installed in the interior wall.

For large container these speedy cooling calls for big refrigerators compressors to expel heat from the dairy product quickly. This is only possible in large farms where there is the presence of electrical power that is three phase.
